The Cambridge Female Composers Festival is a Cambridge-wide festival set up by students from across the university which will take place from January to March 2019. The festival aims to promote the study and performance of music by female and non-binary composers, as well as supporting the creation of music by women and non-binary individuals.
The festival comprises a series of recitals featuring chamber groups and soloists, and a flagship orchestral concert in Trinity College chapel on March 8th, to mark International Women’s Day. There will also be a composing competition open to women and non-binary individuals, with a prize for the winner as well as a chance to have their work performed during the festival. The festival will raise money for the Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre.
